Welcome back Otters and family's
Our AGM is scheduled for October 7, at 7pm in the evening.  Place to be determined shortly.
Swimming starts on Monday September 15, 2014.  Swimmers must be fully registered with the club and Swim BC in order to get into the water with the club on their first day of swimming.
Note from Head Coach
I looked across the valley this morning and saw some white stuff on the top of the hills. Could be that the summer is winding down and the swimming season is ready to start again.
I used last seasons e-mail list so if you are on it by mistake, I apologize.
The summer competitive season was very successful with swimmers at AA, AAA, BC Summer Games, North America Indigenous Games and BC Summer Swim Club Provincials all doing a great job.
We had a great mini-camp (19 new kids!).
An important member of our swimming community got married so I'll say congratulations to Tom Espersen and his new partner Shawna.
The pool has been in it's maintenance mode for the last week and a half and should be ready to go on the 15th.
We still have some people who need to register and this week would be a good time to get that done.
I'm not going to go on too much with this note except to say that the Terry Fox Run is this Sunday. It starts at the Central Park Building parking lot on the corner of Hwy 16 and Main St.

Registration will begin at 12 noon and the run will start at 1pm. There will be a 5km and 10km distance You can run, walk, bike, or use your scooter or skateboard. Kids, strollers and dogs welcome. No admission fee necessary, but donations are welcome. Donate at the run or online at the Terry Fox Foundation.

Wear a club shirt and show how our team is an important part of the community!

I'll see you all soon.

The BV Otters are a competitive swim club that has been in operation since 1991 thanks to parents who seized the opportunity that came with the opening of the BV Regional Pool. We are a Winter Club - which means we swim from September to June each year.

Over the last 20 years, the club has continued to expand in membership and quality of performance. Many Otters through hard work and dedication attain times which allow them to compete in swim meets at the Provincial and National levels.

We are one of five amateur swim clubs spanning the area between Smithers and the Queen Charlotte Islands that form the Northwest Region of our parent organization -Swim BC. While many of our meets are held within our region, we also regularly compete in Prince George and other communities throughout BC.  When our team travels to meets outside of our region we travel as Points North Swim Association, which is currently comprised of Smithers, Terrace, Kitimat and Prince Rupert.  Massett also belonged to Points North but have had to recently close their pool down and are waiting to have another built, we hope to have them back soon.
